BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – As part of the New Students' Orientation 2023, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) introduced various sports facilities available for student use on campus.
The sports center is one of the many facilities provided by ITB, and it is open not only to the ITB academic community but also to the public. Located in the Sasana Olahraga Ganesha (Saraga) ITB, Lebak Siliwangi, it is just a short walk away from the Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga) ITB.
The event took place on Friday, August 4, 2023, online for newly enrolled undergraduate program students of Independent Selection, Affirmation, and International Class, as well as postgraduate and professional programs. A similar event was also held for new students who passed the test-based national selection or achievement-based national selection in July 2023.
The material was delivered by the Head of Technical Executive Unit for Saraga and Sabuga ITB, Dr. Taufiq Mulyanto, S.T., and moderated by Stefani Septiawati Nababan (Urban and Regional Planning, 2021), the ITB Campus Ambassador 2023.
In his session, Dr. Taufiq explained the various sports services offered at Saraga for the students to use, including a swimming pool, running track, soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, and fitness center.
"While the batch of 2023 new students will experience their Common Preparatory Program at the ITB Jatinangor Campus, they could still utilize the facilities offered at Saraga," he stated.
Meanwhile, the ITB Jatinangor Campus also provides its own sports facilities, such as a soccer field, running track, and two sports arenas, one for football and the other for table tennis. Moreover, the the Multipurpose Building can be used for a range of activities, including basketball, volleyball, badminton, and many more.
Saraga and Sabuga have established different pricing based on the visitors' status and the available sports facilities. The field and the running track are free for all active ITB students, while other facilities have a set tariff according to the type of equipment.
ITB students can access the sports facilities by showing their Student ID and gain special tariffs specified for ITB students.
