Gebrak Indonesia Wins West Java Provincial Government Award

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Tuesday (04/28/14) Gebrak Indonesia managed to get an award from the Department of Youth and Sports of the Government of the Province of West Java in the category of innovative programs. Located at Gedung Sate, Ahmad Heryawan as the Governor of West Java province directly to reward youth organizations in West Java Indonesia 2014 award. Through the award, the Gebrak Indonesia earn a cash prize worth 15 million rupiah.
"Actually, the main reason we joined this competition is not merely to get the award and the cash prize. Our goal is to actually have a connection to the government as a policy maker," said Arif Nurrahman (Material Engineering, 2011), chairman of Indonesian 'Gebrak Indonesia' current period. Arif added that by having connections to the government, hope it can support the work program of Gebrak Indonesia.
Gebrak Indonesia won over other participants in the category of innovation programs. Things that make Indonesia the Gebrak unique from other community development activities is due to the Gebrak Indonesia implemented a system of collaboration with institutions in the ITB. "Gebrak Indonesia is the first time the community development institutions to collaborate in the ITB, including Pharmacy Student Association, Association of Civil Engineering Students (HMS), Satoe Indonesia, and INDDES Product Design," said Arif.
About Gebrak Indonesia
Gebrak Indonesia is a movement-based community development community service targeted at Warjabakti Village, District Cimaung. The four agencies involved in Gebrak Indonesia work together and have their respective roles in order to realize the ideals of the "Spirit of Collaboration To Build A Nation". HMS will be instrumental in developing the infrastructure in the village Warjabakti, HMF will be responsible for ensuring the health of the environment, Satoe Indonesia focus on business plan development and education, as well as INDDES will develop craft works of the hands of villagers Warjabakti.
Ongoing program of Gebrak Indonesia is a program of the HMF is socialize environmental health, and the cultivation of Medicinal Plants Family (TOGA) and the construction of the bridge by HMS. The next step will be done by the Gebrak Indonesia is building a latrine Wash Shower facilities (MCK) and implementing business development and the development of craft work. "Hopefully by winning this race, the Gebrak Indonesia becomes easier to run each program works and get a synergy between us and the government that does not happen to collide in every activity undertaken. Moreover facilitate the realization of our goals in the approach of government and the policy makers other to build a junior high school in the village Warjabakti," Arif lid.
