ITB and PT. Dahana Signed MoU for Research Collaboration

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung signed MoU with PT. Dahana (Persero) in the fields of research, education, and community service to strengthen collaboration between academicians and industries. The MoU was signed by Rector of ITB Prof. kadarsah Suryadi and Director of PT. Dahana, Budi Antono at ITB Rectorate building in Bandung on Monday (19/8/2019)
The Signing was attended also by Vice Rector of Research, Innovation, and Partership, Prof. Bambang Riyanto Trilaksono, Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI), Prof. Deddy Kurniadi, vice dean of FTI, and other executives of ITB, as well as Director of Finance and Human Resources and other officials from PT. Dahana.
In his remark, Budi Antono explained that PT. Dahana was established in 1966. It is fully owned by the government and engages in explosives and related services. This company, which is headquartered in Subang, employs 1050 employees; thirteen of their employees are ITB alumni.
“This company’s line of business are explosive manufacturing, drilling and blasting services, related services, and defense related,” said Budi, who is an alumni of Mining Engineering of ITB class of 1992.
He said that through this cooperation, he hopes it can strengthen relation between industry and academicians, which is in line with triple helix model which means interaction between university, government, and industry. “This MoU will be the umbrella for future cooperation with ITB,” he added.
Several aspects to be collaborated are development of inhibitor reactive ground for explosives, research related to nitrate wastes, research related to biodegradable explosives, design of lightning protection system over EMC area of PT. Dahana, and slope stability analysis at project in Banten.

Rector of ITB, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi welcomes the MoU Signing by expressing his thanks for choosing ITB as cooperation partner. He hopes that the cooperation will run well. “Hopefully this meeting today receives the blessing of God Almighty. We welcome this cooperation and we are ready to support the running of the cooperation,” He said.
