BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Head of Program Implementation Management Team of ITB Cirebon Campus, Dr. Ir. Iwan Kustiwan, M.T., said, seven study programs are currently open at the ITB Cirebon Campus, which include Crafts, Industrial Engineering, Urban and District Planning, Geophysics Engineering, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Oceanography. However, currently, these seven-study programs are still being taught at the Jatinangor Campus.

The inauguration of the first lecture in ITB Cirebon Campus is planned for 17 January 2022. However, the initial stage of the transfer process and the start of the academic activities for Semester II of 2021/2022 academic year, will only include students from three study programs, the Urban and Regional Planning, Industrial Engineering, and Crafts.

The ITB Cirebon Campus itself has been constructed since 2016. This campus is a cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Education, West Java Government, Cirebon Regency Government, and ITB as part of ITB Multicampus development (Ganesha, Jatinangor, and Cirebon Campus) as well as PSDKU (Study Program Outside the Main Campus) development.

"Cirebon Campus consists of two locations, those are the Arjawinangun Campus and Watubelah Campus. For the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, the students who will study at the Arjawinangun Campus come from the Industrial Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, and Craft Study Program class of 2019 and 2020. The Geotechnics Engineering Study Program and Oceanography will begin their academic activity at the Cirebon Campus in the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, while the Mining Engineering and Petroleum Engineering Study Program will start in the next academic year. The transfer of academic activities for the 7 study programs is carried out in stages," said Iran.

Iwan added, the plan for the academic activity transfer for the three-study program has passed a thorough consideration of the campus infrastructure and facilities readiness. In addition to that, the PPKM status in Cirebon has entered a safe level. The implementation of the COVID-19 pandemic protocol was also designed to match the current condition of Cirebon. The teaching method (offline, online, or hybrid) is left to each study program.

"So far, the development of Arjawinangun Campus is in accordance with the master plan, to have the capacity for around 10 thousand students. The buildings that have been constructed are the Multifunction Building A (is used for Industrial Engineering and Urban and Regional Planning Study Program), Multifunction Building B (is used for Craft Study Program and Joint Preparation Phase), and sports facilities," he said.

Iwan hoped that this introduction can help the development of the study program in the Cirebon Campus and help the High School students to choose one of the study programs that are available there. The seven offered study programs can bring a positive impact to the community, both economically and socially.
