ITB Day: The Fun of AMI 2015's Main Event

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id-The main event of "Aku Masuk ITB", ITB Day, was held on Sunday (15/02/15). ITB Day was a special day dedicated to high school students from all around Indonesia to come to ITB. There, the students got information regarding departments in ITB, selection process of freshmen, and many other interesting activities. Vice Dean of Academic and Students Division of ITB, Prof. Ir. Bermawi Priyana Iskandar, M. Sc. opened the event in the morning at the parking area of Labtek V.
"I deliver my high appreciation to the committee of AMI 2015. You can help to introduce ITB to the students. The purpose of this event is to introduce the academic activities of ITB, yet the most important is to introduce departments in ITB so that the students can join departments that really suit their desire," stated Prof. Bermawi.

Munawir Bintang Pratama (Ocean Engineering '12), chairman of AMI 2015 also delivered his hopes to the junior high school students. "Wishing you luck in achieving your dreams to become ITB students and in the end, please come back to your own regions".

At 09.30 AM, a seminar that gave information regarding the selection process of freshmen and learning motivation was held in West and East Hall of ITB. The two venues were provided for the seminar due to the high enthusiasm of the students. Though the topic was identical, the seminar was attended by different speakers so that the goal of ITB Day could be achieved. The information of ITB selection process was delivered by the Directorate of Education and Student Agency of ITB. The speakers of the learning motivation seminar were ITB young alumnus, they are Nyoman Anjani, Tizar M. Bijaksana, and Ridwansyah Yusuf Achmad. They shared their experiences during studying in ITB.

The participants of ITB Day could further recognize the departments better after visiting various stands that were prepared by the students associations. The stands were placed in Labtek V-VIII. The students seemed enthusiastic to ask, read the wall magazines or read booklet, as well as observe mockups that were made by ITB students. Besides, AMI 2015 committee also held laboratory tour to various bulding in ITB. Participants who were interested to join the tour were divided into small groups and were guided by two to three ITB students. There were also other interesting stands, such as scholarship stand, merchandise stand, and Amazing Race rides.
