Some parts of the campus has nuances of blue, orange and white, in accord to the ITB Fair 2010 symbol. The campus itself was very lively due to the events of ITB Fair 2010 "Bergerak, Sinergis, Berkarya" or in English "To progress, to be in synergy, to create." Zen; and the President of ITB Student Union, Ridwansyah Yusuf Achmad. Also present were the guests from invited institutions and student representatives from a number of universities throughout Indonesia that supported ITB Fair 2010. The event was symbolically opened by a balloon ribbon cutting ceremony done by Akhmaloka and Deny Juanda.
The whole event was opened with a dance performance; Rampak Kendang dance, performed by Lingkung Seni Sunda (Sundanese Art Society), one of the many culture-based student units in ITB that took a very serious attention in preserving the culture of which it is based upon. In their performance, they artistically criticized the government through a song that implicitly touched the recent Century Bank corruption case which is not yet solved.
The next chain of event was continued by an opening speech by Ahmad Faris S. (City Planning '07) as the convener of ITB Fair 2010. In his speech, Faris stated that ITB Fair was not just a simple student event but was rather a Community Development-based movement which is aimed to create actual results for the people of Indonesia.
"This event adds to the momentum of the movement of Indonesian students, for the sake of a better Indonesia," Faris said. The next speech was delivered by Ridwansyah Yusuf. "I hope that this event could be a beginning to find stronger solutions for the problems that Indonesia now face, and could also make Indonesia smile," he said.
, Akhmaloka admitted that he was extremely proud of the holding of ITB Fair 2010. He saw the event as an innovation, because it is through this momentum that many of the solutions of Indonesia's current problems could be born through the minds of students. He conveyed, "ITB Fair is a fulfillment of students' responsibility to Indonesia." Praises also came from West Java Governor, Ahmad Heryawan, Lc., which was conveyed through Deny Juanda. The governor saw this event as a proof of students' role in the society.
Launching of Profession e-Magazine
After the opening speeches, the event was continued with the launching of the Proficio magazine. The magazine was an e-magazine to address professional matters for students. Proficio assists the publication of student works and creations, so that these works are not just going to pile up in the library and get uselessly dusty. The launching was marked by the handing of the Proficio magazine CD from Dhika Prawidar to Mr. Ferdy.
With this event, then ITB Fair 2010 is officially open; a step to paint a smile in Indonesia's face.
