ITB Held the Third Graduation Ceremony in Academic Year of 2014/2015

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ITB passed the graduates for the third on in Academic Year of 2014/2015 on Friday-Saturday (31-07/01-08/15) in Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga) ITB. In the session, ITB passed 1780 students which consist of 1101 undergraduate students, 659 magister program students, and 20 doctoral program students with 500 students got the predicate of cum laude. The session which lasts for about four hours was attended by ITB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, along with the deans, advisory board, and the students' parents.

The morning session was opened by the speech of Rector about ITB graduates' contribution in the transferring science in the community. In the speech, he said that ITB's role in transferring science in the community through education and research is not quite enough. So, the direct interaction is needed to complete the education and research so it can fulfill the expected outcome. However, Rector said that the continuity and system are really vital so that adaptation in practical circumstances can be done. "Transferring science to the people should be structures and the result should be massive," Rector said. "The improvement is needed to push the intensity of transferring the science," he added.

The session which started at 8 in the morning announced lists of achievements in national and international competition by both students and lecturers. There was also some messages from cum laude graduates read by the Vice Rector in Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Ir. Bermawi Priyatna Iskandar, M.Sc., Ph.D.

At the end of the session, Shabrina Nida Al Husna (Microbiology 2011) as the representative of the graduates delivered her farewell speech. Shabrina sent her gratitude to all lecturers and civitas academica in ITB. She also reminded her friends to keep holding onto their dreams so they can give many good contributions for the people. "Whichever road we take, hope it will be the best and help p us to be more mature, wiser, and a better one," she ended.
