BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Petroleum Engineering students from the ITB’s Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (FMPE ITB) has won first place in the 2023 Petronation Engineering and Energy Days (PGD) competition after forming the VETERAN7 team. The winning team includes Dika Fiqriansyah S., Seli Yovanka Lidiawati, and Yusuf Kurniawan.
PGD is an annual event organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Indonesia (UI). PGD UI serves as a platform to develop critical, creative, innovative, and comprehensive thinking in addressing problems within the energy and chemical industry.
This competition takes the form of a quiz, where students are assessed based on their understanding of petroleum and energy engineering. Participants are required to provide accurate answers quickly and also share the knowledge with other contestants.
Each VETERAN7 team member was assigned with a specific role according to the substance of the material in advance. Seli is in charge of production and drilling, Yusuf takes part in Geophysics and Geology, and Dika handles other sections. They also prepared themselves by studying a question bank provided by the Petroleum Engineering Academy.
“For this competition there is no supervisor but there are mentoring sessions provided by the Petroleum Engineering Department itself,” Seli stated.
This achievement is not only a source of pride for the VETERAN7 team but also shows the potential and quality of the education, especially in Petroleum Engineering of ITB. It is hoped that this achievement will inspire other students to continue excelling and contributing to the development of science and technology in the future.
