ITB Sehat 2015: Keep Productive, Stay Healthy

Life of ITB student is loaded with activities, both academic and non-academic. The workload of learning make they lose their time to do intensive sport and health check. Ministry of Sport and Health Student Cabinet (KM) ITB initiated the ITB Sehat 2015 entitled "Keep Productive, Stay Healthy". This annual event held a talk show which invited Ade Rai (Health Consultant) and two twin sisters Valerie Krasna Dewi (Biological Engineering 2010) and Veronika Krasna Dewi (Microbiology, 2010). The series of activities held on Saturday (24/10/2015) included a complete health check, talk show, and fun urbanathlon (run with obstacles given) around ITB. This activity held in various places in ITB.


ITB Sehat 2015 is an event consisting of a complete health check, including eyes, dental and lung checks, psychological counseling, and blood donor. Then it continued to the discussion about healthy and productive lifestyle in the Auditorium of the Central Library ITB, and closed with fun urbanathlon. "It's the need for an event that encourages campus mass to live a healthy life," said Cindytami (Geological Engineering 2012) as the Chief Executive of ITB Sehat 2015 when giving reasons of holding these activities. The main objective was to gain awareness, encourage, and facilitate both students and public to live a healthy life. The fourth ITB Sehat is an improvement from the previous activities. The committee works closely with agencies such as HMF (Pharmacy Student Association) volunteer and Volunteer Doctor (organization of volunteer doctors). Participants who attended this event came from various backgrounds.


"The way to happiness is living a happy lifestyle, and the way to health is living healthy lifestyle," said Ade Rai in the talk show. In addition, Vera and Vali also pointed out the importance of maintaining health through regular diet and sleep. According to Vera, when someone stayed up late, it means that the person cannot manage the time well. "Staying up til late means preparing to lose," added Vali. The entire speaker on talk shows provided inspiring and educative insight that participants were eager to find out about the importance of healthy lifestyles.  "I hope this can be held annually with higher enthusiasm, more participants and collaborations," closed Pramesti Wulandari Santoso (Mathematics 2012) as the Minister of Sports and Health KM-ITB.
