ITB Students Attended FLNG Process Safety and Asset Integrity Management Seminar

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Floating Liquefaction Natural Gas (FLNG) Plant has recently become a hot topic in Indonesia. FLNG Plant is actually not a new technology, but the FLNG plant in the Masela block is the first FLNG Plant in Indonesia so as academia, particularly interested in the field of oil and gas, science and technology of the FLNG is very important. INPEX and SKK Migas collaborating with ITB held "Expat Goes to Campus" entitled "FLNG Process Safety and Asset Integrity Management" on Tuesday (20/10/2015) and Wednesday (21/10/2015) at 8.00 -13.00 WIB in the second floor of Seminar Room, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD).

The objective of this activity are knowledge, experience, and technology sharing from expatriates (employees or experts from abroad) to the academic community, especially university. Abdi Reza Nayak, Manager Operations System in INPEX Masela Ltd. which have been experienced in the world of oil and gas for 34 years and Tim Wenman (Asset Integrity Manager Engineering Technical Authority Excellence in INPEX Masela Ltd.) was also invited. On Tuesday, the presented topic was about hazard effect management process and on Wednesday was about asset management. Safety and operation aspects in the FLNG was the core of the material presented considering FLNG technology is a new and complex technology. In addition to these two topics, also presented the company profile of INPEX and careers in the oil and gas field. In the long term, this activities are expected to provide knowledge to the youth, as the expatriates working in Indonesia has a limit corresponding government regulations.


This activity was attended by around 60 students from various majors, mainly from Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering. Dinar Indriana Khoiriah as the Head of Project Communication and Relations Department INPEX said, "In the future, hopefully academia as part of stakeholder will also collaborate so FLNG project will be able to meet the expectations to provide energy to the nation."
