ITB Students Won First and Second Place in the Huawei ICT Competition Asia Pacific 2023-2024

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Two teams representing Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) received two prestigious awards at the Huawei ICT Competition Asia Pacific 2023-2024. The winner announcement for this competition was held at the ASEAN Head Office, Jakarta, on Thursday (18/4/2024).
The ITB Network Team won the Grand Prize Practice Competition "Network Track" and the ITB Cloud Team won the First Prize Practice Competition "Cloud Track". All of the students involved come from the Telecommunication Engineering program, School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) ITB.
The ITB Network team consisting Rebekah Tiarma, Helmi Ahmad Khaderani, and Yeremias Mangu and was mentored by an academic assistant from the Telecommunication Engineering Study Program, Ibni Inggrianti. On the other hand, the ITB Cloud Team with team members such as Nissha Kinaya Maureen Sibayak, Bevan Julio Krisna, and Dennys Yudhystira Hutapea was mentored by Abdul Latif, S.T., M.T.
This competition aims to overcome the gap in digital talent as well as to improve skills and knowledge in the ICT field. Over 6,400 students from 14 countries and regions in Asia-Pacific participated in the event. There are four categories available: Network Track, Innovation Track, Cloud Track, and Computing Track.
Four universities that won the grand prizes for each category of the Asia Pacific level are listed below:
1. Network Track: ITB
2. Innovation Track: Cebu Institute of Technology
3. Cloud Track: Singapore Polytechnic
4. Computing Track: I-Academy Philippines
Other teams representing Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, as well as Hong Kong and Macau, China were also awarded second and third in each category.
The ITB Network Team and ITB Cloud Team along with other contestants will advance to the next level in the "Global Final of the Huawei ICT Competition" which will be held in Shenzhen, China, in May 2024.
This extraordinary achievement is clear proof of ITB's commitment in developing young talents in the ICT field. ITB encourages its students to learn and develop in the digital era.
