BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The SpotipaiFemili Team, consisting of three students from Information System and Technology study program of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) class of 2021, namely Aditya Inas Hamidah, Farhan Algani Putra, and Vincent Franstyo successfully achieved 3rd place in the Data Analytics Dash COMPFEST 2024. The event was organized by the students of Universitas Indonesia’s Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) and took place on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The competition was divided into two stages. In the prelims round, participants were given around 70 problems that had to be solved using SQL. These problems ranged in difficulty from basic to advanced, with points awarded for each problem solved.
In the final round, participants were challenged to develop a dashboard under the theme “Education of Indonesia”. The SpotipaiFemili Team chose to explore the topic of education inequality in Indonesia. They gathered data from various sources, including Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), web scraping, and scientific journals, to create an informative and engaging dashboard using the Tableau application. This dashboard was then presented to a panel of judges during the final round.
The SpotipaiFemili Team took two weeks to develop their dashboard. Determining the topic was one of the biggest challenges, which was finalized only one week before the deadline. They chose the theme of education inequality due to the availability of relevant and flexible data for analysis.

ept was first made using Canva to facilitate the implementation process in Tableau, given Tableau’s limited collaborative features. The dashboard’s design was then combined with the processed data, resulting in an interactive visualization that contains facts, problems, and solutions related to education inequality in Indonesia.
The competition brought together finalists from leading universities, including ITB, Universitas Indonesia (UI), and Bina Nusantara (Binus). The SpotipaiFemili team delivered an outstanding performance with an in-depth data presentation, offering a thorough analysis of educational disparity in Indonesia alongside a data-driven solution proposal.
After winning the competition, each team member shared their personal learning experience. They emphasized the importance of hard work, perseverance, and mutual support as key factors in their success.
“We learned that strong motivation is crucial to achieving victory,” said Vincent.
“We discovered that teamwork was the main key in this competition, as there were many things that needed to be done, so good coordination was required to make sure that everything was aligned,” added Algani.
“Receiving feedback on our dashboard helped us understand how to improve what we had created,” concluded Inas.
