BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – IT (Information Technology) is currently one of the most advanced and influential sectors of society, in which most occupations are aided with cutting-edge features and technologies. Some of these technologies that are rapidly evolving are artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
The multinational technology company Alibaba Cloud from Alibaba Group collaborated with ITB SEEI (School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics) to discuss the development of artificial intelligence and cloud computing on Friday (10/6/2022). The topics shared in this webinar were presented by the Solutions Architect of Alibaba Cloud Indonesia, Matthew Taruno.
"Cloud computing provides convenience and efficiency in data security, storage, and scalability," Matthew stated. The technology is convenient in many ways, such as protection from cybersecurity threats, cost optimization, data modernization, and more. "One of the strengths of digitizing cloud computing is the access to data centers that can be virtually done."
There are prior knowledge about cloud computing that must be learned, starting from setting up and operating cloud servers, managing heavy traffic with load balancers, to running relational databases in the cloud. By understanding these pieces of information, cloud computing can become the solution for a cost-effective technology. "Nowadays, Alibaba Cloud has servers in many countries and owns three data centers in Indonesia," Matthew added.
Alibaba Cloud offers diverse features to its users, including KYC (Know Your Customer) technology, mobile-first, sales and service, collaboration suit, and customer notification. In addition, the technology can help decision-making processes with trusted data obtained from other sectors. Stock market data management, digital engagement, machine learning, and money laundering prevention are a few listed ones supported by artificial intelligence. The security of cloud computing is also maintained by end-to-end security and security compliance.
