Kemenkes Goes to Campus: Recruiting Talent to Build the Future of Indonesian Healthcare
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes RI) held the "Kemenkes Goes to Campus" event at the West Hall of ITB, Ganesha Campus, on Wednesday (10/7/2024). ITB is one of the 18 partner campuses in this program organized by Kemenkes.
The "Kemenkes Goes to Campus: Kemenkes Calls Talent" program aims to recruit top university graduates to join Kemenkes in support of achieving the 2041 Golden Indonesia vision.
Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., stated that the campus warmly welcomes any activities that provide information about the Ministry of Health to the entire academic community at ITB, especially regarding technological developments and professional programs available at Kemenkes for ITB graduates.
He mentioned that ITB's current educational program is multidisciplinary as a response to the transformation and technological developments in Indonesia. “We believe that healthcare programs today are not just about medicine but also involve various professional backgrounds and disciplines,” said Prof. Jaka.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, S.Si., CHFC., CLU., discussed the significant roles of engineering in the advancement and effectiveness of healthcare. As an alumnus of ITB's Physics program, he also led a dialogue session with other speakers.
He stated that interdisciplinary collaboration can advance healthcare technology. This development requires superior and competent human resources. In this program, he invited ITB students to help Kemenkes realize the transformation of domestic healthcare. The interdisciplinary programs promoted by ITB are also acknowledged by the Minister as something currently being worked on in the healthcare field.
“Healthcare technology is always evolving. It is no longer just about medical science but has extended to the fields of science and engineering. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunology are examples of healthcare technology developments resulting from various disciplinary backgrounds,” he said.
Other speakers at the event included Dr. Bambang Widianto, M.A. (Special Staff to the Minister of Health for Governance and Bureaucratic Reform), Indri Rooslamiati M.Sc., Apt. (Head of Health Services Unit at Kemenkes), Dr. Gerhard Reinaldi Situmorang, SpU(K), Ph.D. (Head of the Integrated Executive Installation at RSCM Kencana), and Dr. Gezy Weita Giwangkancana, Sp.An. (Young Specialist Doctor at Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung). Each speaker shared their experiences in developing domestic healthcare technology with Kemenkes RI.
Minister Budi emphasized that Indonesia will become a developed country or achieve Indonesia Gold 2045 with healthy and prosperous citizens. Therefore, Kemenkes Goes to Campus was held to recruit smart and innovative young talents from universities to build this future together.
“The vision of Indonesia Gold 2045 is drawing closer with a bright future ahead. I am optimistic that we will be able to achieve it,” he said.
He stressed that the priority in work is not only personal gain but also making a significant impact on society, especially in the healthcare sector. Kemenkes offers broad opportunities to serve the community and make significant contributions to healthcare. Additionally, working at Kemenkes provides opportunities for self-development through scholarships both domestically and abroad.
This year, Kemenkes RI is opening more than 8,000 positions in various units, both centrally and regionally. Through this program, Kemenkes communicates the need for talents necessary to achieve 2045 Golden Indonesia.
