Forging Academic Ties: ITB Holds Courtesy Meeting with IIT Delhi

NEW DELHI, itb.ac.id — A delegation from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) paid a courtesy visit to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India, August 24, 2026. The meeting served as a platform for discussion and the exploration of potential academic and joint research collaboration between ITB and the leadership of IIT Delhi, one of India's foremost technological institutes, widely recognised for its excellence in science, engineering, and technology.
The visit to IIT Delhi took place a day before ITB's participation in the AVPN Global Conference 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 25 to 27 August 2026, forming part of the ITB delegation's broader agenda during its visit to India.
The delegation was led by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., accompanied by Prof. Dr. Poerbandono, S.T., M.M., Head of the ITB Endowment Fund and Business Management Board (Badan Pengelola Usaha dan Dana Lestari/BPUDL), and Ir. Hary Devianto, Ph.D., Deputy Head of BPUDL ITB.
Through this meeting, the two institutions opened a dialogue to explore various avenues of collaboration, ranging from academic programme development to joint research initiatives, marking a promising first step in expanding ITB's international network with leading technical universities in South Asia. Beyond its ceremonial significance, the courtesy visit further strengthened bilateral relations between ITB and India's leading higher education institutions, particularly IIT Delhi, laying the groundwork for broader academic and research collaboration in the future.
