BANDUNG, itb.ac.id--The 2021 ITB Ultra Cycling Challenge (IUCC) bicycle race was successfully held on Saturday (27/11/2021). This competition was attended by 170 participants divided into two competition categories.

The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, directly opened the competition, which started from the Sabuga Building and ended at ITB Cirebon Campus. He appreciates the existence of this competition and hopes the competition will always exist again next year.

ITB Ultra Cycling Challenge (IUCC) 2021 is an offline competition in exhibition format due to limited capacity in the Pandemic era. This race is epic because it passes through the Cisumdawu toll road, which hasn’t been operated yet. The route is ITB to ITB, from ITB Ganesha, to ITB Jatinangor, and ends at ITB Cirebon. It has two categories: the GaDuh Category, which is 220 km (EG 2,600m) via Jatigede, and the Cheerful Category, which is 150 km (EG 1,300m) via Bukit Paralayang.

The Chairperson of the IUCC 2021 Committee, Andhika Aryaguna, said 170 participants took part in this event. The committee limited the number of participants due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Still, according to Andhika, this activity also introduces the ITB campus from Ganesha (Bandung), Jatinangor, and Cirebon through West Java sports tourism.

The triumph of IUCC 2021 becomes a trendsetter for organizing similar activities in the current pandemic era. “All committees and participants with the ITB Covid-19 Task Force are very concerned about the implementation of health protocols throughout this activity. Technical matters such as antigen testing, wearing masks, avoiding crowds, and so on have been well prepared, even with simulations being carried out first. to ensure this activity applies strict health protocols,” said Andhika, quoted from the ITB Alumni Office.
