2 ITB Lecturers Receive Research Grants from Osaka Gas Foundation

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id--The Institute for Research and Community Service ITB presented the planning and results of research granted by the Osaka Gas Foundation at Multipurpose Hall in the CRCS ITB Building. The Chairman of Osaka Gas Foundation of International Cultural Exchange, Mr. Setoguchi Tetsuo, and the Chairman of LPPM ITB, Dr. Yuli Indartono, attended the event.

Every year, Osaka Gas Foundation routinely collaborates with ITB in joint research. This year, the foundation has given research grants to two ITB lecturers, Dhewa Edikresnha, Bc.Eng., M.Si., and Prof. Endah Sulistyawati, S.Si, Ph.D.

These research grants were part of the Osaka Gas Foundation of International Culture Exchange (OGFICE) Research Grant Program. The program aims to incentivize technological research on natural gasses and other environmental problems.

At the grant ceremony, two ITB lecturers presented the results of the grant program, namely Dr. Sony Suhandono, M.Sc., and Dr. Eng Muhammad Iqbal, S.T., M.T. The former gave a presentation on research titled "Analysis of Polystyrene Biodegradation by Gut Microbiota Tenebrio Molitor Larvae Through Metagenomic Approach," while the latter on Hybrid ZnO/Porous Industrial Mill Scale-derived alpha-Fe2O3 for Efficient and Sustainable Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Production."

As the Chairman of OGFICE, Mr. Setoguchi Tetsuo expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with ITB, stating that the partnership would benefit the two entities. The Osaka Gas Foundation highly admired the researchers who had contributed to the program. He declared that the Osaka Gas Foundation would continuously support the joint research program and hoped it would bring good value to society.
