BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—ITB SEEI (School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics) organized its 5th ICPERE (International Conference on Power Engineering and Renewable Energy) in Bandung. The event was held from 22-23 November 2022.
ICPERE is a prestigious seminar that delves in the field of electric engineering as well as new and renewable energy. It is administered once every two years by ITB SEEI and IEEE. Expected to be a gathering place for academics, industries, and government, it is hoped that everyone who participated can exchange ideas on the progress and plans for the development of electricity.
During the opening, the Chairman of ICPERE Dr. Ir. Agus Purwandi, M.T. mentioned that participants of the event are not only from Indonesia, but also from abroad. Held in a hybrid setting, this year’s conference is themed "Towards Indonesia Net Zero Emission 2060".
Dr. Agus explained the three main technologies in transition energy: renewable, transitional, and electrification. These three things are also the core topics of the seminar.
"Through this conference, we wish to discuss and share the things we have been doing regarding the theme. This event will also provide the opportunity for various delegates to deliver topics related to power engineering and renewable energy to enrich their experiences with global challenges."
This conference has received 61 papers. 48 of them are from Indonesia, with 22 being made from ITB. The 13 remaining papers are sent from other countries like the USA, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Pakistan, Malaysia, and North Korea with the ratio of accepted papers of around 83 percent.
Meanwhile, the ITB Vice Rector for Innovation and Research, Prof. Ir. I Gede Wenten, M.Sc., Ph.D., remarked that the 2022 ICPERE 2022 was the first to be held in a hybrid manner.
According to him, new sustainable energy is currently an important issue in everyday life. "ICPERE is one of the many events that disseminates the latest ideas in the field of renewable energy.
