Cikaracak Festival: The Engrossed Closing of Punten Tamansari

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - As the peak of Punten Tamansari series of events, the committee of Collaboration ITB held Cikaracak Festival on Sunday (03/05/14) at Taman Hewan road. There were many choices: pasar malam, culinary stands, gang wisata, street art performance, and The Punten Games. This last devotion became a sweet and warm end for ITB students and the people around Tamansari. Started at 5 p.m., Taman Hewan Road was never lack of visitors until the closing ceremony of Punten Tamansari.

ITB students and the people around Tamansari were all over Taman Hewan road enjoying pasar malam and all art performances. Kora-kora was the most favorite vehicle for the visitors. There was also Bianglala that bring enjoy in gang wisata. The kids who were educated by Keluarga Panduan Angklung (KPA) ITB performed on the stage playing Angklung. There were the students of Angklung School which was one of the programs of Punten Tamansari. Besides, there was also traditional Sundanese dance and music performance which put local identity as the basic value of Punten Tamansari series of events by Collaboration ITB.

The togetherness of ITB students and the local people was already started since the preparation for the festival night. Bebarengan was held as the activity so that the students and local people can interact intensively to make Cikaracak Festival Committee. Collaboration ITB also initiated Bebersih Cikapundung to renovate and levy the public facilitation to support Tamansari as tourism spot.

"The interesting part of this activity is that the participants consist of ITB students and local people. The students have to work together with the local people not only on the D-day but also long before it to prepare the committee. So, it was expected that it would build strong relationship among the students and the local people," the committee explained on their website, parunten.com.

As Cikaracak Festival was ended, Punten Tamansari also came to the end. The togetherness among the students and local people will be an everlastion memory for everyone who was involved in the programs done by Collaboration ITB. The collaboration of the students from any kinds of background, majors and student clubs, was expected to make the students concern about the local identity and local values believed in the community.
