Collaboration Expo Architecture: Showing Architectural Works with West Java Identities
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id- For the first time, ITB Architecture major in cooperation with Architecture Students Association (FIMA) in West Java had the opportunity to hold exhibitions of architectural works on Friday through Saturday (09-11/10/14) ago. This exhibition, while providing architectural works from various universities in West Java including Universitas Parahyangan, Institut Teknologi Nasional, Universitas Kebangsaan, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Sekolah Tinggi Sains dan Teknologi Indonesia (ST Inten), Universitas Komputer Indonesia (Unikom) , and Universitas Langlangbuana. Located in East Campus Center fiels, the event managed to attract more than six hundred visitors.
The event is the first ITB's Architecture major in collaboration with FIMA Jabar to hel bringing a variety of architectural works from other universities in West Java. Theme of the exhibition also promote the concept of identity of West Java architecture. "Besides being able to know more in the concept and the uniqueness of each university, with this event we wanted to showcase the works of architectural students who have contributed to the preservation of the architectural identity of West Java," Renny Meylia (Architecture 2011) said as head of the division Relations.
One of the works in this Expo Collaboration Architecture which attract enough visitors is a review of the architectural of Kampung Naga, Kampung Dukuh, and Kasepuhan Ciptagelar from Universitas Parahyangan. These architectural works are aimed to review the philosophy of a typical building in West Java. For example, in setting up the building, the community in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar very concerned about nature. For example, the material chosen for the head building is leaves because the foliage can filter rain water before it seeped into the ground. Then for the foot building philosophy, it is based on fact that the land is the mother of life, people are reluctant to injure Kasepuhan Ciptagelar ground so choose to use the pedestal foundation to the foot of the building. The foundation also has advantages extolled earthquake resistant.
