FORTEI 2014: Improve the Quality of Higher Education in Indonesian Electrical Engineering

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - In order to harmonize higher education in Electrical Engineering in Indonesia, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering courses, School of Electrical Engineering & Informatics (STEI) ITB become host for Higher Technical Education Electro Indonesia Forum 2014 (FORTEI 2014). FORTEI a knowledge forum that brought together educators, academics, researchers, related to the field of Electrical Engineering. The event took place on Monday-Wednesday (02-04/06/14) on East Campus Center ITB.
Big theme in this year's forum is 'Improving the Quality of Higher Education in Indonesian Electrical Engineering'. According to Drs. Syaichu Rohman Arief (Chairman Events FORTEI 2014), the major theme was chosen to look at the same time evaluate the competence of higher education graduates in Electrical Engineering issues related to global competition and the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). Therefore, in this forum was discussed which concern in curriculum, international accreditation, e-learning in education in Electrical Engineering, and others that aims to build on the progress and independence of the nation.
Some of the events are held in FORTEI 2014, which brings together FORTEI Household Statutes, FORTEI 2014 National Conference, FORTEI 2014 Seminar, and various workshops. FORTEI Seminar 2014 is a forum for the participants of academic communication. FORTEI 2014 seminar is intended as a forum for educators, researchers, academics, and practitioners to present their research results as well as a platform to build or develop cooperative relationships between participants. In addition to paper presentations seminar, the organizers also invited some 2014 FORTEI main speaker in the related field of Electrical Engineering.
This year, FORTEI 2014 successfully representing 20 provinces and 76 universities from all over Indonesia. It is expected that the various activities organized in 2014 FORTEI can be a reference for Electrical Engineering courses throughout Indonesia. "If seen, many universities are still not want to have a referral resource. Much of what we are talking about, such as differences in curriculum, accreditation issues, all matters which related to quality improvement practitioners Elekto technique. Hopefully, with this event can provide a recommendation for Electrical Engineering itself or other stakeholders and established a good relationship among clumps of Electrical Engineering in Indonesia, "said Arief.

FORTEI is a means of communication for Higher Education Indonesian Electrical Engineering, for Tier 1 (Bachelor), Tier 2 (Master), Tier 3 (Doctorate) and 3/Politeknik Diploma (Vocational). The forum member are universities in Indonesia which has a program / Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics. Noted has joined 122 state and private universities. FORTEI established in Bali in 2005, which was initiated by six universities in the field of Electrical Engineering, the ITB, UI, Undip, ITS, UGM, and the University of Udayana.
FORTEI main activities include: aligning higher education in Indonesia Electrical Engineering encompasses the fields of education, research and technological applications, discuss topics related to national science Electrical Engineering, concluded, provide feedback and solutions to government and stakeholders, as a reference to the educational institution high Electrical Engineering, and enhance cooperation between institutions and rope silaturrahim, Head of Department officials, Secretary of the Department, as well as professors and researchers in the field of Electrical Engineering.
