BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Taking place at Basketball Field, West Campus Center on Saturday (21/04/12), Ganesha Music Event (GME) 2012 presented stage performances of Stompcat, Androgeniuses, She Sings We Play, Thiscontinu, Voicenote, Interstellar Parallax, Band Dosen ITB, Rumah Musik Harry Roesli, and Pure Saturday. This event is conducted by Apres! ITB and is an annual event held at the end of the unit's leadership period. GME 2012 was attended by several crowds: the students, the locals, and Bandung music lovers.
GME 2012 was titled Ganesha Musik Event: A Sparkling Tribute. This year's GME brought the street musicians together with students, superstars, and even the lecturers, under the theme of street music.

Street musicians usually perform at street junctions, near the traffic light. Some of them appear to be skilled musician, way above the average street performers. At this year's GME, the street musicians perform on the same stage like the lecturers, students, and even the stars do.

Radiates Positive Values to Society

"We do not want GME to end up like a mere high school event that only invites the celebrities without introducing values. Beyond that, we want to convey a message to the society, so that they can feel the positive influence," said Ray Massiano Daely (Geological Engineering 2009), the Project Officer of GME 2012.

Next year's GME is expected to have an even greater scale, while still radiates positive values to society. "We want this to be kind of like the Bandung version of the famous Jazz Goes to Campus (annual jazz event held by students of University of Indonesia - ed)" added Ray.

This year's GME has undergone a series of preparation since last year's July. "There were a few obstacles, preventing us from executing early. However, the visitor's number and enthusiasm is worth the committee's hardwork. It all matches our expectation," said Ray.
