ICTOM 2014: SBM ITB Support The Development of Technology Management

KUALA LUMPUR, itb.ac.id - As a institution that based on research, ITB comes to be a supporter of the development of technology in this world. Through to ICTOM 2014 (International Conference on Technology and Operation Management) that was conducted in Kuala Lumpur, ITB showed again its action to support the technological innovation. This year, ICTOM 2014 uses "Technology Innovation And Commercialization Towards Sustainability" as a theme for this event. This conference is organised by School of Technology Management and Logistics, Universiti Utara Malaysia. ICTOM 2014 is strongly supported by Prince Songkla University (PSU), Thailand and School of Business and Management of Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM ITB), Indonesia. This event was held on Monday-Tuesday (18-19/08/14), in Putra World Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur.

The aim of this conference is to bring together academicians, leading engineers, industrial practitioners, researchers, and postgraduate students from all over the world to exchange and share their experiences and knowledge related to Technology and Operations Management field. This conference serves as a platform for the delegates to present their findings and create collaboration opportunities between academicians and practitioners in the field. Selected papers will be published in Journal of Technology and Operation Management (JTOM) and other invited journals.

Representing SBM ITB, Prof. Dermawan Wibisono (Lecturer of SBM ITB), Gatot Yudhoko, Ph.D (Lecturer of SBM ITB), and Akbar Adhiutama,Ph.D (Lecturer of SBM ITB) from Operation and Performance Management Research Group, joined this event to share their research about technology management that being developed. Support provided by SBM ITB for the implementation of this 2014 ICTOM event is one of the stepping stones SBM ITB to become more global business school again. So far, SBM ITB has successfully obtained the certificate of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2008 for his achievements in terms of quality assurance management and education services. This will certainly contribute to the ITB as a research-based institution, and good in the eyes of international quality.
