ITB and JNE Cooperate to Build Business Lab

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) signed MoU and cooperation agreement with PT. Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) at Executive Meeting Room A on ITB rectorate in Bandung, on Wednesday (25/7/2019). The cooperation agreement was signed by ITB Rector, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi and President Director of JNE, Mohamad Feriadi. Several executives of ITB also attended the signing ceremony, namely Vice Rector of Research, Innovation and Partnership of ITB, Prof. Bambang Riyanto and Dean of School of Business and Management (SBM) of ITB, Prof. Sudarso Kaderi Wiryono.
The cooperation will address a number of aspects, such as talent recruitment program, education, training, study and research, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), consultancy service and supervision, as well as implementation of management technology.
The company, which engage in courier service, are planning to build Business Lab SBM ITB. According to Feriadi, the lab is a part of CSR program and JNE’s active role to support development of education in order to build advanced young generation who bring benefit to the country and the people.
Feriadi in his remark said that the lab is designated as a co-working space that support education and learning process. Lecturers and students alike can do many activities on the lab such as product catalog exhibition, event organizing, research activities, and case study arrangement.
“We believe that there will be many things that can be jointly conducted by JNE and SBM-ITB, because aside from development of knowledge, technology, and human resources, we believe we can do many other things together,” he said.
On the same occasion, Dean of SBM, Prof. Sudarso Kaderi Wiryono said that the business lab, which function as a co-working space, will support students’ entrepreneurial activities.
He said that SBM ITB is currently making active learning method which also push students to develop their business as soon as possible besides doing classroom learning activities.
On the business lab, students will have a room to conduct creative product development process and a place to display their innovations. The business lab will also function as a platform to develop SMEs mentored by SBM through a number of programs such as capacity building, digital marketing, and financial access.
“This cooperation between SBM ITB with JNE is expected to motivate other enterprises to cooperate actively in development of learning process, specifically relating to development of innovation and entrepreneurship in SBM-ITB,” said Prof. Sudarso Kaderi Wiryono.
Regarding the cooperation, Prof. Kadarsah expressed sincere thanks for the trust that have been given by JNE to ITB. “This cooperation will strengthen ITB in the direction towards Entrepreneurial University. One way to realize that is by moving forward together with industry,” the rector concluded.
