ITB and PT Fast Retailing Indonesia (Uniqlo) Sign MoU to Collaborate in Education and Industry

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and PT Fast Retailing Indonesia (Uniqlo) conducted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Rapim A Room, Rectorate Building, Jalan Tamansari, Bandung.

The MoU signing was attended by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., and FR Group Officer of PT Fast Retailing Indonesia, Noriyaki Koyama.

This MoU signifies a collaboration in education, development, and the contribution of Indonesia's creative youth to the industry. Areas of collaboration include scholarships, student exchange programs, internships, research, and innovation development in technology, particularly in textile technology.

Prof. Jaka expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this collaboration. "I am very thankful for this collaboration, especially for the scholarship program, which serves as an encouragement for students to further develop in the future," he said.

"In addition, ITB's curriculum not only emphasizes competence but also focuses on character development and the formation of individuals who can contribute to national development," he continued.

He hopes that this MoU will strengthen the relationship between education and industry, producing creative and innovative young generations ready to compete both nationally and internationally.

Meanwhile, Co-COO of PT Fast Retailing Indonesia, Yugo Shima, expressed admiration for ITB, one of Indonesia's top universities known for producing outstanding young generations.

"As a fashion company, we aim to make a positive impact on young generations, create real influence, and contribute to the creative world. Therefore, through collaboration with ITB, we can explore a better future for education and industry together," he stated.

Similarly, Noriaki Koyama responded positively to this collaboration.

"This MoU is a starting point for us to advance young generations to be more creative and prepared for the future," he said.

"One of Uniqlo's contributions is through the Uniqlo scholarship program and internship program, which will provide opportunities for ITB students to learn and exchange experiences in Japan," he added.

This collaboration is expected to benefit both parties and contribute to the advancement of education and industry in Indonesia.
