ITB and Siemens Indonesia Collaborate in Developing D2TEP for Digital Transformation Acceleration

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung signed a Memorandum of Action (MoA) or Letter of Agreement with PT Siemens Indonesia to develop Digital Twin Ecosystem Program (D2TEP). The signing of this MoA coincided with the Siemens Indonesia Executive Summit, which was held on Tuesday (15/8/2023) at Ayana Midplaza Jakarta.

The Digital Twin Ecosystem Program will be based on SIMIT software from Siemens and focus on the ecosystem development acceleration for factory model and simulation, which will be using SIMIT platform simulation from Siemens.

The agenda was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FIT) of ITB, namely Dr. Eng. Muhammad Iqbal, Dr.-Ing. Justin Pradipta, and Edi Leksono, Ph.D. According to Dr. Justin, in this collaboration, FIT ITB will get SIMIT Simulation Program software, PCS-Neo-based new generation DCS, and SIMIT Virtual Control.

“These devices are expected to be useful aids for lectures, practice, final projects, research, training, etc,” he said.

This collaboration aims to produce future employees who possess technical competence and are ready to work. They are expected to meet the business standards of the wider community.

“Aside from that, the program is also expected to propel and strengthen FIT ITB in solving industrial problems and establishing industrial cooperation as a part of Tri Dharma of Higher Education,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the President Director and CEO of Siemens Indonesia, Lamine Jendoubi stated that the Digital Twin Ecosystem Program has become the most important matter of technology development transformation in Indonesia today.

“Siemens has had a good relation with ITB as one of the technology-based universities,” Lamine stated.

The collaboration is expected to become one of the endeavors to achieve sustainability and innovation, especially in the digital transformation field.
