ITB Cirebon Campus Welcomes 328 TPB Students

CIREBON, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Cirebon Campus welcomed 328 students from 7 study programs who have completed the Common Preparatory Program (TPB) on Monday (21/08/2023). These students had previously participated in the TPB Program for 2 semesters at ITB Jatinangor Campus.
Following the convocation, students majoring in Craft, Oceanography, Urban and Regional Planning, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Geophysics Engineering will begin to participate in academic activities at the ITB Cirebon Campus.
This time, the welcoming ceremony for the TPB students carried the theme “New Home, New Hope”, which highlighted the importance of a new environment in providing an opportunity to grow and bloom with confidence and optimism.
The ceremony started with an opening speech by ITB’s Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs (WRAM), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng. Prof Jaka conveyed the development on ITB Cirebon Campus, from the increased number of passing grades as well as student achievements.
Afterwards, the Director of ITB Cirebon Campus, Dr. Ir. Iwan Kustiawan, M.T., delivered a speech regarding the campus area and the growing number of students enrolling to ITB Cirebon Campus every year.
The welcoming ceremony featured several activities that took place until 12:00 WIB, which includes:
Faculty Introduction
Students participated in a faculty introduction and learned the methods of conducting classes that will take place at ITB Cirebon Campus. The purpose of this activity is to help students understand the study program as well as the teaching and learning process.
Performance
A lecturer from FAD ITB, John Martono, S.Sn., M.Sn., commonly known as Captain John, also enlivened the event. He performed 3 songs with his distinctive voice. Afterwards, student bands from ITB Cirebon Campus also performed.
Student Activities Unit Showcase
Various Student Activities Unit (UKM) at ITB Cirebon Campus were also introduced, namely TDD, Cirebon Multicampus Residency, CISCO, Kawai, Board Games, and Campus Ambassadors.
The introduction of various UKM took place alongside the game activities, which also marked the end of the new student convocation at ITB Cirebon Campus.
The ceremony coordinator, Arif Nur Roman, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success. He hoped that this welcoming event will help students to adapt more easily to their new environment, ITB Cirebon Campus.
