BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Independent Selection of undergraduate admission which was implemented by Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) this year will grant relief for underprivileged students in the form of free selection fee and Single Tuition Fee (UKT). This was emphasized by Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., in Bandung, Monday (3/5/2021).
"ITB provides a free registration fee for all KIP-K holders or less fortunate families which fulfill the criteria of KIP-K holders. Prospective students can upload their KIP-K or Not Capable Certificate (SKTM) as proof," said Prof. Jaka. On the official website of ITB admission, the selection fee of Independent Selection is Rp. 200 thousand for all study programs that are not under FSRD, and Rp 300,000 for FSRD.
Prof. Jaka explained that ITB will also grant Single Tuition Fee relief for underprivileged students who pass the selection test. "Academic achievement is the main and only consideration on accepting new students in ITB," he further emphasizes.
Prof. Jaka explained that Independent Selection is designed as a scheme for unsubsidized undergraduate student admission schemes. However, the exemption of registration and tuition fee for the underprivileged student is a sign of ITB intention to provide an opportunity for economically incapable but academically excellent prospective students.
In addition to opening new opportunities for the underprivileged prospective student, the Independent Selection admission also grants another relief for other accepted students. "ITB allows installment in Single Tuition Fee (UKT) payments," Prof. Jaka continues.
Open for All Majors
In this year's ITB Independent Selection, the prospective student will directly choose the major that they want to enter. "All majors will accept Independent Selection admission, except the major in ITB Cirebon Campus. The policies are a form of incentive for majors in ITB Cirebon Campus," said Prof. Jaka.
Moreover, Prof. Jaka also explained that the selection will be based on UTBK 2021 scores and the high school study report card for semesters 1-6. "Specifically, for FSRD, there will be an addition of a drawing test that will be commenced on 14 June 2021," he said.
The admission for Independent Selection will start on Monday (3/5/2021) and will end on 10 June 2021. The complete explanation regarding the requirements and procedures of Independent Selection can be seen on the official website https://admission.itb.ac.id/home/sarjana/mandiri.
