BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Three students from the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) have won gold medals at the International Science Invention Fair (ISIF) organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) and Udayana University. The team comprises Irfan Walhidayah and M Furqan Nazuli from the 2023 cohort of the Master's in Informatics Engineering program, and Triana Manalu from the 2023 cohort of the Master's in Tourism Planning.

In their online presentation held on Tuesday (11/7/2023), the team presented their work titled "Rudaya~Connect the Art Platform: Creative Transformation as an Effort to Maintain the Existence of Indonesian Culture and Artists."

Rudaya is an application that connects artists with art seekers, which has been implemented in Bali.

The main goal of developing this application is to serve as a creative transformation in preserving the existence of Indonesian culture and ensuring that artists are not eroded by the rapid advancement of information technology.

With the advent of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, artists often lack optimal facilities and connections with technology. Simultaneously, their access to markets and promotional opportunities remains limited within their immediate community. This stands as a critical factor for traditional artists in securing work from those in need of artistic services.

The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated these issues. Artists have lost income due to closed tourist destinations and cancellations of several performance events. 'Technological innovation is needed to connect traditional art service seekers with traditional artists,' said Irfan during an interview on Wednesday (11/15/2023).

The development of this platform utilizes the design thinking method, applying steps such as empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Sustainability testing results of the platform indicate a usability rate of 89.4 percent, signifying that the application is beneficial, easy to learn, effective, and efficient.

Rudaya has not only received awards at the international level but has also been downloaded over 500 times with a 4.8 rating on the Google Play Store. This success proves that Rudaya is not only needed but also recognized as a solution that effectively meets users' needs.

The application has also obtained Copyrights for Application Programs and Service Brands from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia. Furthermore, Rudaya can be accessed via the link https://rudaya.id/
