ITB Students Won XML Superstar Challenge Contest

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Two students of ITB, Hafni Syaeful Sulun and Garibaldi Mukti each of them became a national champion of The XML Challenge Superstar. In the program championship that is initiated by IBM, Hafni (IF'05) sweep Query Challenge category, while Garibaldi obtain champion in the category of Programming Contest.
XML Challenge Superstar championship is held via internet and aims to become a place for students and professionals to better understand the open source tool, xml and database management as well as improve the technical capabilities in this field.
XML Challenge Superstar followed by more than 400 participants from various ASEAN countries namely Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
In the competition, each participant must complete the Quick Quiz before competing the contest according to the category that is Video Mania category, Query Challenge and Programming Contest. Winners in each category decided by jury of IBM.
From each category, IBM will select the winner for the country level and for the Asean level. Each category has a different assessment criteria. For the programming contest, for example, determining the winner do with the aspects view such as Utility, Reusability, Consumability, Security and Technical Innovation.
For the winners, IBM provides variety of gifts such as iPod Nanos, iPhone, Nintendo Wii and even a trip to visit IBM laboratories abroad.
