BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) launched a new student admission page, which would later be known as ITB Admission. This year, admissions for new students for undergraduate level are opened through three selections: National Selection for State Universities (SNMPTN), Joint Selection for State Universities (SBMPTN), and Independent Selection. Especially for the SNMPTN route, ITB offers a specialization program. Also, ITB opens international classes for several majors.

Dr. Arief Hariyanto, the Director of Education ITB, explained that ITB would accept 4620 new students in 2021, distributed with several percentages. SNMPTN would fulfill 40% of the ITB quota while the other 30% are for SBMPTN and Seleksi Mandiri. For those who will apply for FSRD via SBMPTN, it will require an Art and Design Portfolio.

People can see the information, procedures, and registration schedules for SNMPTN and SBMPTN on the official website of the SNMPTN central committee https://ltmpt.ac.id.

Seleksi Mandiri is an alternative route for prospective students who have good academic abilities and want to be accepted directly into the desired study program. In the acceptance of the independent selection pathway, ITB uses semester 1-5 grades and UTBK scores as assessment materials. Especially for the Faculty of Arts and Design, ITB will carry out a skills test.

"The Seleksi Mandiri in 2021 is carried out for student admission to all study programs at ITB, except for study programs at the Cirebon Campus ITB," Arief said. ITB does not open the admission pathway for independent selection at the Cirebon Campus ITB as an incentive program, with the imposition of UKT SNMPTN and SBMPTN for all ITB Cirebon Campus students.

ITB offers 16 study programs in the Jalur Peminatan: Astronomy, Chemistry, Meteorology (Ganesha), Oceanography (Ganesha), Oceanography (Cirebon), Geophysical Engineering (Ganesha), Geophysical Engineering (Cirebon), Physical Engineering, Engineering Management, Materials Engineering, Regional Planning and Kota (Ganesha), Urban and Regional Planning (Cirebon), Bioenergy and Ministry of Energy Engineering, Crafts (Cirebon), Industrial Engineering (Cirebon) and Entrepreneurship.

Also, Indonesian citizens can apply the international classes, such as Indonesian students who take secondary education abroad, general or international high schools. The international program will provide student exchange activities or double degrees with universities from abroad.
