BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Muhammad Nabil Razhin (Agricultural Engineering Study Program, School of Life Sciences and Technology, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB)), together with his colleague Amanda Naura Najla (Anthropology Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Padjadjaran University (Unpad)) won first place in the college-level competition, R U UP 2024: Ruang Bicara Radio Unpad. This event was held at Unpad, Saturday (6/22/2024).

R U UP 2024: Ruang Bicara Radio Unpad is a college-level broadcasting competition, as well as a forum for participants to channel their interests and talents in public speaking and broadcasting. This competition encourages participants to develop ideas on how conventional radio can merge with digital technology and create a more interactive, inclusive, and relevant listening experience to meet the needs of modern society. The theme of this competition is "Convergence of Conventional Radio to the Digital Radio Era".

Initially, Nabil admitted that he was hesitant to participate because of the tight Final Exam schedule. However, as Amanda wanted them to work together again after often being MCs since high school, Nabil decided to join in. Although this was the first broadcasting competition he had participated in, Nabil had been used to being an MC and events host since junior high school up until college.

Nabil, even as a broadcasting competition first-timer, showed his talent and ability in conveying his ideas creatively and inspiringly. Together with Amanda, they raised the theme "Utilizing Digital Radio to Support the Local Music and Entertainment Industry". Nabil and Amanda’s mastery in this theme was due to their music festival organization experience in high school. As a result, they succeeded in getting praise from both panelists, a lecturer in Communication Science and a senior broadcaster from Ardan Radio.

Nabil and Amanda's journey in preparing for this competition was full of challenges. Their busy schedule with final exams and other activities made the preparation time undoubtedly short. Their final practice was at 2 am before the competition day. The support from friends, also their hard work and dedication paid off with satisfying results. Nabil and Amanda managed to amaze the judges with their creative ideas and interesting delivery methods. They were named the first place winners in the competition.

After winning the competition, Nabil became more interested in becoming a professional broadcaster or MC. However, in the near future, he plans to focus on paper and business case competitions to improve his CV. He would also run the committee he is currently holding.

"My message would be; it is what it is and you've done your part and now let God do the rest. (We have to) eliminate anxiety in various effective ways," he said.
