Seminars and Gen-Reon Talkshow 2013: Dig Indonesian Potential Game Industry

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ITB Student Activity Unit Genshiken Genshiken Seminar Talkshow Creative and Exhibition 2013 (Gen-Reon 2013) on Saturday (20.04.13). Titled "How to Start a Game Business" and "Marketing of Modern Visual Industry", the event was held in the Main Gallery East Campus Center ITB.

This event brings Ardika Prasetyo (Agate Studio), Nicko (Canvas Ranger) and Aji (Tinker Games). They are in the gaming industry and the founder of the visual in Indonesia. They have built their industry some years back and proved successful.

Until now, the gaming industry in Indonesia is not heard in the surface banayak. However, the potential of this industry is quite large. By Aji, Indonesian game industry, although still quite young, handled by a developer who has a passion and high quality. "Just so you know, the profit generated from the gaming industry will equal future mining (mining)," he said.

Pioneering career in the gaming industry is indeed not easy and has to face some challenges. According Ardika, there are three business models to start a gaming industry, sponsorship, retail and free games. For sponsorship, a game developer making games for other gaming companies, while the retail game developers create the product, release, and market themselves. For free games, users can download and play the game for free. Developers will benefit from Freemium version / In Game Purchase, advertising, & Paid Version Lite version, and the version of the Try and Buy.

Through this event, participants are invited to explore the visual potential of the gaming industry and is engaged in the creative industries. This year is predicted to be more than 100 Indonesian game developer who has produced at least 900 games. Previously, in 2010, in Indonesia there are only 42 games developer (Liputan6.com).

In addition, there are other missions that you want to bring to the industry is to introduce Indonesian culture to the world. "Our team, Canvas Ranger, inserting elements of Indonesian culture in our game through a cast of characters and background in the game," said Nicko. The industry is expected to shape the character of Indonesia and the game will bring Indonesia to the next level.
