BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has been the real culprit in any aspect, including the activities of the student's vocal group (Paduan Suara Mahasiswa) of Institut Teknologi Bandung. PSM ITB decided to maintain its existence by making a breakthrough to inspire people involved in the choir, regardless of the limitations.

PSM ITB uploaded their concert titled Satu Cinta (One Love) on the YouTube Channel, Saturday, June 26, 2021. Involved in this concert were 101 persons, including the members of the vocal group and the team. The vocal group members were alumni, as well as students from batch 2017—2020.

The virtual concert was held due to the aim of keeping the existence of the vocal group. Besides, the vocal group should maintain musicality development.

The "Satu Cinta" concert attracted the attention of music lovers. What's more, the concert title adopted one of the famous songs of the late Glenn Fredly, titled "Pada Satu Cinta".

This annual PSM ITB virtual concert production process collaborated with Sync Production. All of the members had been practising for four months through online methods.

They recorded both the audio and video process with the music director's approval. The Sync Production carried out the merging process. The result was the stunning virtual concert that anyone could check through the official YouTube Channel of PSM ITB.

The PSM ITB virtual concert's presence relates to the ITB Choir Festival (FPS) that had been the main one of the best standards for Indonesia's choir achievement in Indonesia. This festival has been conducted 26 times. The first time was held in 1968. FPS ITB remained the most recommended place for all choirs to learn the theories and implement the overall process.

"We decided to postpone the FPS ITB competition because of the pandemic. Yet, it was finally decided that FPS XXVI ITB would be held in the form of a Choir Exhibition," claimed Billy Hansel, the Head of the ITB PSM 2021 Virtual Concert, in the virtual interview by ITB's public relation journalist, June 30, 2021.

Billy stated that the vision of the virtual concert was to increase the community awareness that the choir FPS XXVI ITB still exists. The performance also emphasized the presence of the FPS XXVI ITB's activists. The concert got positive comments from thousands of viewers, particularly choir teams from various universities, like UGM, ITS, and many more. The "Satu Cinta" virtual concert has been watched more than 10,000 times with more than 1000 likes.

Meanwhile, Avip Priatna, the Artistic Director of FPS XXVI ITB 2021, hoped that this festival was the right way for meeting the expectations of choir performers and creators throughout Indonesia. "So that the world of choir can keep going on and develop further," he said.
