SBM ITB Spread the Spirit of Entrepreneurship through Seminar

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Star running business can be done anytime, including when we are in college. Inline with that, at Tuesday (17/12/13) School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB held a seminar about "Tips and Tricks College while Business". Located in auditorium SBM Building, this seminar wasn't only attended by ITB college student but also students from Senior High Schools in Bandung. Two young entrepreneurs is invited to share their experience, namely Dina Dellyana, owner at Glintz Shoes and Satriya Kurniawan, owner at Ramen House. Although both speakers not long ago running their business, both chosen in order to give real examples in how to start business since they were in college.

This seminar was opened by Dr. Wawan Dhewanto, Ph.D, as Head of Entrepreneurship study program. In this chance, Wawan explained that this seminar is a routine activity to keep spreading the spirit of being entrepreneur. Then, a video was also shown about the journey of entrepreneurship spirit in ITB, started from Integrated Business Experience program, E-Track program, MBA Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship program, MBA Entrée program, till now been opened new study program, that is entrepreneurship.


In first session, Dina Dellyana told the importance of passion in business. Graduated in pharmacy, but fashion is her passion in business. So, although she was already has drugstore, Dina with her friend make a shoes business named Glintz Shoes when she was college in MBA ITB. She developed this business until had her own outlet. For her, adjusting timeline in college with our business and getting business soul mate who can take up each other's shortcoming is important. Dina also stated, "Do the business with using heart. Do not rush to determine what will be your business. Find what is clicked in heart." This lesson gained when she failed to run food stalls which are chosen with haste until finally, she realized that culinary isn't her passion.


It's different story with Satriya Kurniawan, culinary entrepreneur who rise up with the flag of CV. Satriya Jaya Food. Man who also graduated from MBA ITB currently has businesses named Mang Lada, Gerobak Ramen, Ramen House, and Okitoki House. For Satriya, ups and downs in business are common thing. He was closed his own business many times, such as online games place, oyster mushroom cultivation, pancake, till the last out of the restaurant he had founded. "The key is doing it sincerely. Consider each failure as lessons and the most important is doing your business idea right now," said Satriya.
