Spurring the Advancement of Pharmacy in Indonesia, School of Pharmacy of ITB held Workshop on Molecule Model

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Concerned with the development of pharmacy in Indonesia, School of Pharmacy of ITB (SF), in an event series celebrating 70th year of Pharmacy Study in Indonesia, held a workshop on molecular modeling on Thursday and Friday (30-31/03/17). The workshop brought the theme “Identification of Natural Compound with Validated Protocol Screening” and took place at the 4th floor of Ruang Edukatorium, SF ITB.
The Workshop presented some experts in molecular modeling, namely Prof. Dr. Daryono Hadi Tjahjono, M.Sc., Dr. Enade Perdana Istyastono, and Dr. M. Yusuf. To the participants, they shared about many applications of molecular modeling. On the first day, the delivered materials were the development of molecular modeling in Indonesia and the validity of SBVS COX2. On the second day, the delivered materials were natural compound database and In Silico De Novo Design. Hands-on session was held for participants at the end of session to apply the delivered materials.
Besides molecular modeling workshop, the celebration of 70th year of Pharmacy Study ITB also held other events, such as National and International Seminar, exhibition, social services, open house, and alumni homecoming. The event series has been executed since January 2017 to October 2017. The workshops varied in topics; from modeling molecule, safety induction, RT-PCR, to halal pharmaceuticals.
The 70th celebration of Pharmacy study ITB is expected to be a vehicle to commemorate history, explore potentials, and become the reference in developing School of Pharmacy in the future. By improving pharmacy study in Indonesia, rapid growth in pharmaceutical research and industry is expected to occur and bring Indonesia to the next level.
