The Quran Olympics 2015: ITB Ready towards National Students MTQ

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Islamic Students Association (Gamais), Majelis Ta'lim (Mata'), and Holy Quran Tilawatil Unit (UPTQ) cooperated in organizing ITB Quran Olympics 2015. The event which was held during three days is open for all Muslim students in ITB. The opening ceremony was held on Friday (20/01/15) in the main hall of Masjid Salman ITB. Then, the competition was held on the second day in several spots of ITB Ganesha Campus. Outdoor venues was chosen to make public, especially ITB students can watch this event closely.

There was several competition branches held by the committees that are Tilawah, Tartil, Tahfidz, Quran Scientific Paper, Poetry Musical, Speech, Fahmil Al-Quran, and Calligraphy. For branch of tilawah, tartil, and tahfidz was divided into two categories that are ikhwan (male) and akhwat (female). This competition was also attended by students from various study programs. The winner announcement then delivered in the closing ceremony on Sunday (22/02/15) in the multipurpose building of Masjid Salman ITB.

The Quran Olympics 2015 was purposed to invites students to always get connected with Holy Quran. Supported by Board Foundation of Masjid Salman ITB and Salman ITB Charity House, this event was also as the preparation towards National Students MTQ. The chosen winner will then be prepared to compete alongside other students in Quran competition at the national level.

On the other hand, this event would have more special meaning. As Dr. Suyatman (advisor of Gamais ITB) said, this event is the right place to compete in goodness. "The Quran Olympics had become good chance for us to build relationship each other and eager for compete in goodness. In addition, here we also enforce the sentence of Allah," said Dr. Suyatman in his closing speech of The Quran Olympics 2015.

"Thanks to the committees who have worked together and to participants who have been enthusiastically followed this event. Hopefully, this all be done with sincerity. May Allah records it as good deed," lid him.
