BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Fikri Khoirul Ummam Shiddiq, or Oirul for short, a Civil Engineering student at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) class of 2020 won 3rd place in the FestruktifGaze contest which was held at the 2023 West Java Festival at Gedung Sate on September second to third 2023.

Festruktif, an abbreviation for “Innovative Infrastructure Festival”, presents various simulators used for the construction of roads, bridges and aesthetic buildings in West Java. This event held by TV One provides an opportunity for creative people and residents of West Java to participate in #FestruktifGaze, a competition to provide direct reviews to the booths of infrastructure-related departments in West Java.

Oirul revealed that this competition was impulsive. The competition information had just announced on D-day. However, he relied on documentation experience at various previous events.

The content created by Oirul highlights the excitement of the Festruktif event at the West Java Festival. Presented as a video, it covers various moments occurring in the event such as games, dances, Q&A sessions, as well as interesting booths. The aim of creating this content is to entertain the audience, share the excitement of the event, and invite people to attend the second day of the 2023 West Java Festival.

Oirul himself was present at the event as the vendor of videobooth 360. After finishing his responsibility on manning the booth, he had less than an hour to edit and upload the video for the competition. He finished the editing process in the car. This is often done by him since he is used to fast editing which is required in the documentation of certain events.

The biggest challenge Oirul faced was documenting the presence of the Governor of West Java for the 2018-2023 period and his wife, Ridwan Kamil and Atalia Praratya. At last, He could only catch Ridwan Kamil in a photograph, while Atalia Praratya can only be recorded on video. “This is difficult because many people want to document them," said Oirul.

However, thanks to his experience in documenting a number of major events, he managed to overcome these challenges. "With my editing and events documentary experiences, as well as Allah SWT's permission, I managed to face it all," he said.
