Discover Bandung with Navigacity

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Tens of team travelled around Bandung, doing some fun games in the cities' main corners. All participants of Geopoint: Navigacity 2012 were enthusiastic. Navigacity is a tournament held as part of the series of event held by Student Association of Geodetic Engineering (IMG ITB). The competition takes place on Saturday (28/04/12), involving 93 teams, wherein the champion would get IDR 5 million prize.
The event aims to habituate the participants with the use of map, an equipment regularly used by students of Geodetics and Geomatics Engineering. The participants were given the map and coordinates through the radio and twitter account @geopoint2012 that are updated every hour. In addition, the event aims to introduce Bandung tourism sites.

Each team, consisting of 2 - 5 members, travels around by riding a car. Carrying the map and coordinates, they initially assembled at Monumen Perjuangan, Dipati Ukur, and attempted to find ways out of the city's crowd traffic to reach the predetermined sites.

There were six destinations: Taman Hutan Raya, Museum Sri Baduga, Babakan Siliwangi, Museum Pos Indonesia, Masjid Raya Bandung, and Braga City Walk. There were fun games held at each site to determine the winner of the event. After visiting all destination points, all teams returned to finish line in ITB.

The winner was then announced in the evening at ITB East Campus Center. The winner was team E1, and was awarded IDR 5 million prize, followed by team A2 and A10, as respectively, the first and second runner up and were each awarded IDR 3 million and IDR 2 million.

Even the losing participants were having an extremely great time. "It is really fun. Usually we had Amazing Race, but is only held in campus, this time it is around Bandung and is made into a fun competition." said Iqbal (Telecommunications Engineering 2008), one participant of Navigacity 2012.
