ITB Awarded as Informative Public Institution 2021

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung won the title of Informative Public Institution year 2021 by the Central Information Commission at the 2021 Public Information Openness Award. The announcement was made online on Tuesday (26/10/2021) and was delivered by Vice President K.H. Ma'ruf Amin.
This achievement is a result of hard work by the Information and Documentation Management Official (PPID) ITB in implementing Article Number 14 Year 2008 on Public Information Disclosure. Previously in 2019, ITB had achieved the same title of Informative Public Institution. However, during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic period, ITB's title dropped to Towards Informative. This year, ITB again was awarded the Informative Public Institution title with 96,10 points.
Central KI itself awarded the title based on these point qualifications: Informative (90-100), Towards Informative (80-89,9), Barely Informative (60-79,9), Less Informative (40-59,9), Uninformative (0-39,9). For this achievement, ITB became one of the 83 public institutions which were awarded the Informative title.
At this event, the Head of Central KI Gede Narayana said, Central KI has organized the 2021 Public Information Disclosure Index (IKIP) at a national level and obtained a score of 71,37. This index shows that the performance of public information in Indonesia is on the medium-level.
He also said that in the year 2021, Central KI had carried out monitoring and evaluation of the 337 public institutions. The result of this monev is the classification of these public institutions, he continued, classified as informative (83), towards informative (63), barely informative (54), quite informative (37), and uninformative (100).
"It should be noted that based on this percentage Indonesia is undergoing a change on its public information disclosure leading to improvements in the management and service of public information as the objectives mandated by Article No. 14 Year 2008 on public information disclosure," he said.
Vice President of Indonesia, KH. Ma'ruf Amin said this award is an excellent opportunity for public institutions to accelerate their effort in improving their public information disclosure through multiple innovations.
"The public information disclosure management was carried out in order to encourage public participation as a means of building good and transparent governance. The result of this assessment is expected to act as a means of introspection for the public institutions in keeping and improving their public information disclosure performance and their productivity even during the COVID-19 pandemic," said the Vice President. The Vice President then gave his appreciation to the public institutions that achieved this year's Informative title.
