ITB Champion in III Indonesia Pharmacy Olympic in Padang

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Civitas Akademika ITB continues to gain achievements that made ITB proud when it became a champion in the III Indonesia Pharmacy Olympic (OFI) that was held in Padang, 23-25 September 2011. Two students from the ITB School of Pharmacy succeeded in achieving first and second place in the pharmaceutical field in that competition.

The event that was participated by 19 delegates from 16 universities in Indonesia was commenced on Friday (23/09/11) in Padang. Following the opening, six representatives from ITB School of Pharamcy which are Yuda Prasetya Nugraha, Alyani Samhana, Egy Chandra, Adhitya Jessica, Bernard Manuel, and Larasati Arrum competed in III OFI First Level Competition.

The III OFI Final was held on Saturday (24/09/11). Two participants who first went through the selection process was chosen to become the III OFI finalist which are Yuda Prasetya Nugraha and Evy Chandra. Both ITB representatives passed to became finalist in the pharmaceutical field. The unique part about this was that both became the first and second place winner of this competition. First place was Yuda Prasetya Nugraha, while Egy Chandra took the second place position. Both were students in the Pharmacy Science and Technology, School of Pharmacy.

About OFI

OFI was held by the Indonesia Pharmacy Olympic Committee (KOFI) which was an independent institution created and resided by UNAND Faculty of Pharmacy. OFI Participants was grouped in two fields of competition which was Pharmaceutical field and Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacology field.

OFI was held as a step to reach the educational knowledge of pharmacy in Indonesia that was once fulfilled from the activities that can sharpen the student's knowledge and skill in the field of pharmacy. This event was first held in the Andalas Univeristy Faculty of Pharmacy in 2009 and received full support from the General Director of Dikti.

In the closing of the III OFI, ITB was selected as the Champion of the III OFI in Padang. With this achievement, ITB continue to receive the champion's trophy from Dikti, which was previously also achieved by ITB.
