Pharmaceutics Research Group

General Information

Pharmaceutics is one of pharmaceutical disciplines related to design and development of pharmaceutical preparations that are ready for effective and safe administration. Pharmaceutics Research Group consists of four sub-groups namely: 

  1. Physical Pharmacy,
  2. Pharmaceutical Technology,
  3. Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics, and
  4. Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. 

In education, Pharmaceutics Research Group is responsible for 63 courses in the Undergraduate Program (Science and Technology Pharmacy; Clinical and Community Pharmacy), Pharmacist professional program, as well as graduate program (Master in Pharmaceutical Science and Master in Industrial Pharmacy).

The members of pharmaceutics research group also actively conduct researches. In 2015-2016, there are 39 research topics funded by ITB, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Ministry of Health, Indonesia Toray Science Foundation, etc. with total amount of 4,318,750,000.00 IDR. Some of the research topics are related to nanotechnology and development of new drug delivery system.

The results of research in 2015-2016 have been published in 32 papers of reputable international journals, and 2 papers in accredited national journals. Within the last two years, the researches have also been disseminated 46 papers in international seminars, and 14 papers in national seminars. Pharmaceutics Research Group hosted the International Seminar on Pharmaceutics with keynote speakers from USA, Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, etc. The conference was held on August 3-5, 2015 and there were around 300 participants from various countries.

In community service, Pharmaceutics Research Group regularly organizes courses and workshop, especially for personnel from pharmaceutical industries. Workshop on Tablet Coating was held in October 2016. Additionally, some of the research group members serve as consultant in various governmental institutions (Directorate of Higher education, Ministry of Health, National Agency of Drugs and Foods Controls, etc.), as well as non-governmental institutions or pharmaceutical industries. number of collaborations have also performed for pharmaceutical product development and quality improvement. On top of that, some members of pharmaceutics research group have received awards in research, i.e.:  Dr. Debbie Sofie Retnoningrum and Dr. Heni Rachmawati, M.Si. (RISTEK-Kalbe Science Award), Dr. Aluicia Anita Artarini (FWIS L’Oreal National Award).
